Ebony Wings

Gabon Ebony 'wings' I carved to make earrings with. These were a lot more difficult to carve than you might think. They are about 45x15mm and I used gouges for the first part then burrs to carve them deeper. I'm not finished with these, I need to clean up the -everything- and sand them.

I know the lines don't match up, I drew it on but wood grain moves your tools, grain doesn't care about your stinking lines. Oh, and I suck at symmetry.

Well, I fucked these up. I tried to drill the holes, and I got one of them to line up through, but when I did the second I missed, and somehow drilled all the way through. I thought I was keeping track but I guess I didn't .  

The holes had to arch slightly, so I drilled downwards from each side and had to make them meet up somewhere in the middle.
Motherfucker.
